From the gleaming perfection of the new products showcased at an Apple keynote to Black Mirror’s cruel techno-dystopias — visions of the future are cultural currency. Technology companies and science fiction writers are not the only entities that define our conception of the future though, creatives can play a vital role. This session will be kickstarted by a keynote that catalogues the deep strangeness of our current moment — evidence of the future leaking into the present — and followed by a pair of case studies that illustrate how artists and designers can shape our perception of what may lie ahead.
